Ambassador of Malta to Ukraine presented credentials to the President

This Tuesday was marked by a very important event in bilateral relations of Malta and Ukraine. Today H.E. John J. Debono presented credentials to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the ceremony held at the Presidential Administration building. In his welcome speech, the President of Ukraine expressed hope that the activity of the newly-appointed ambassadors would result in wider international support of Ukraine, help restore peace in Donbas, return the annexed Crimea and further develop bilateral relations with accrediting countries. H.E. John J. Debono served as Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Malta for 16 years and was decorated with the Order of Merit by the President of Ukraine in 2010.He is fluent in the Maltese, Russian and English languages.
